Please read these instructions completely and carefully

Number 1 is a very simple device to use but mistakes can be made.  If used correctly it will provide a clean urine sample at a perfect temperature.

Never attempt to microwave Number 1.  Only a few seconds will burst the bag.

Number 1 comes completely assembled ready to use.  It is only necessary to apply the heat pad.  The synthetic urine sample has been irradiated in order to prevent the growth of bacteria.  The end of the drain tube has been plugged.  Do not forget to close the clips and cut off the plugged end before going to test.

Do not open the heat pad wrapper until the day of your test.  Open the cellophane and shake the pad to activate.  Once exposed to the atmosphere, it will have a life expectancy of 8 hours.  The pad may feel only slightly warm to the touch because it runs at 98 to 100 degrees.   Apply the heat pad to the belt side of the bag so that it is on the opposite side that has the temperature strip.  WARNING: Do not allow heat pack to lie directly against your skin, it may cause burns.

Temperature:  The temperature of the sample is very important.  Urine leaves your body at 98.6 degrees.  In order to validate an unobserved urine test, the tester needs to see the sample close to that temperature.   When Number 1 is worn with a heat pad, it will maintain the temperature at 98 to 100 degrees.  It will never over heat.  It should take 15 minutes to one hour to reach testing temperature.

Place Number 1 around your waist with the vinyl bag against your abdomen.  It must be against your bare skin in order to allow for proper heat transfer.  Be sure that the drain tube is on the bottom allowing the correct flow.  Do not kink or bind the tubing.  The two clips can be moved along the tube to provide convenient access.  Be sure that one clip is always closed before moving the other. 

If you are tested randomly, and want to be always ready, you can wear Number 1 and keep the wrapped pad in your pocket until needed.  In order to stall for enough time for the sample to reach the correct temperature, you might explain that you just recently urinated and ask for a glass of water.  Your own body is the main heat source for Number 1 and, without the heat pad, will maintain the temperature at approximately 90 degrees. 

Number 1 holds three and a half ounces of synthetic urine and most testing requires only one and a half ounces.  So, if careful, you can use your sample for a second test if needed.
